Genevieve is a commercial litigator, who joined Quillon upon completion of her training at Eversheds Sutherland LLP.

Practice

Genevieve has experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes, with a particular focus on civil fraud and commercial litigation.

Her practice covers disputes involving allegations of conspiracy, breach of fiduciary and director duties, misappropriation of funds, and breach of contract. She also has experience advising clients on reputation protection (defamation and privacy), including pre- and post-publication matters.

Her experience includes obtaining and resisting applications for injunctive relief, managing complex disclosure and confidentiality issues (including confidentiality club arrangements), challenging the jurisdiction of the English courts and enforcing foreign judgments in high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes involving overseas parties.

Magomedov and others v TPG Group Holdings (SBS), LP and Ors

[2025] EWHC 59 (Comm); [2025] EWHC 1996 (Comm)

Genevieve successfully represented PJSC Far-Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) in challenging the jurisdiction of the English courts in a $13.8 billion claim involving allegations of conspiracy and breach of fiduciary duty. FESCO was successful on all grounds and it was awarded its costs on the indemnity basis. In the aftermath of the jurisdiction challenge, Genevieve acted for FESCO in successfully obtaining a significant disclosure order against the Claimants in the Commercial Court. The Court ordered disclosure directed to identifying the Claimants’ non-party litigation funders (and related funding information), enabling FESCO to pursue potential non-party costs relief.

Multi-jurisdiction enforcement proceedings

Genevieve acted for shareholders in a state-owned energy company in one of the largest enforcement actions before the English courts. The proceedings involved the recognition and enforcement of a foreign judgment in the tens of billions of US dollars against a foreign state. The matter involved complex issues of sovereign enforcement, jurisdiction and cross-border strategy.
